Celebration of the 5th TVET Teacher Skills and Innovation Project Competition Award Ceremony

The Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DTVET) at the Ministry of Science and Technology organized the 5th TVET Teacher Skills Competition and Innovation Project Competition at the TVET Teacher Training College (Baelin) from February 26 to February 28, 2025. The event aimed to enhance the quality of TVET teachers from TVET institutes under DTVET by equipping them with pedagogical and practical skills aligned with industry requirements and fostering creativity, innovation, and teamwork.

The TVET Teacher Skills Competition featured seven engineering disciplines, including Surveying, Industrial Motor Control (HLC & PLC), PCB Design, Circuit Making and Implementation, Web Design, Multi-Cylinder Engine Adjustment and Single Cylinder Engine Overhaul, Lathe Machine Operation, and Mechanical Engineering CAD. A total of 87 teachers from the TVET institutes participated in the event.

Meanwhile, 20 participants showcased 10 modern and innovative projects in the Innovation Project Competition. The winners were as follows:

  1. First Prize: CNC Router Milling Machine – Government Technical Institute (Insein)
  2. Second Prize: Smart Vending Machine Using Digital Payment System – Government Technical Institute (Nay Pyi Taw)
  3. Third Prize: ML-Based Real-Time Driver Drowsiness Detection and Alert System – School of Industrial Training and Education (SITE)

The Grassroots Innovation Project Competition, designed to promote the socio-economic development of the grassroots community, also featured 10 projects with 20 participants. The winners were as follows:

  1. First Prize: Manual Rice Planting Machine – Government Technical High School (Pathein)
  2. Second Prize: Eight Row Manual Seeder – Government Technical Institute (Kyaiklat)
  3. Third Prize: Peanut Filtering Machine Using Pedal Power – Government Technical Institute (Yenanchaung)

 

During the awards ceremony, the Ministry of Science and Technology recognized the outstanding achievements of the participating teachers in both the TVET Teacher Skills Competition and the Innovation Project Competition. The prizes were awarded as follows:

TVET Teacher Skills Competition:

  1. First Prize: MMK 500,000
  2. Second Prize: MMK 400,000
  3. Third Prize: MMK 300,000

    A total of 21 awards were presented, amounting to MMK 10,800,000.

Innovation Project Competition:

  1. First Prize: MMK 600,000
  2. Second Prize: MMK 400,000
  3. Third Prize: MMK 300,000
  4. Consolation Prize: MMK 100,000

    A total of 20 awards were given, amounting to MMK 4,000,000.

The awards ceremony successfully celebrated and honored the skills and innovative contributions of TVET teachers, reinforcing their role in fostering technical and vocational excellence in Myanmar.
